With this being our first christmas together we decided to start our decorating tradition. We bought a tree and brought it home. it sat for a few days before anything happened. Finally one night I decided it was time for us to get moving on the decorating. so I started to decorate!
After a while Matthew decided to join in too!
It took us about 2 hours to finish the whhole thing but we had fun. We didn't have any ornaments because all of Matthews are at him parets still so I made them this year. It was quite fun.
This first one is me with matthews favorite ornament I made...a green squiggle. Matthew is holding the star! I also Love old style decorating, like colonial or early american style. so I decided that we would use those type of decorating Ideas and put them on the tree. It is a really inexpensive way to decorate too. And since woe would only be using these decorations for a year I thought it was a good Idea. So I get some cute ribbon and I made bows and put them all over the tree. This is what the people that lived in the 13 original colonies did then they put candles on the tree with the bows. I didn't do the candles though!=o) This is what the tree ended up looking like!
I also put up a village and a big wreath to make the rest of the apartment look festive! It was so much fun! I'm excited for christmas and I finally have the spirit of it here. it is great!
